What is FarmTabs?

FarmTabs is a software being developed by the Iowa Valley RC&D team to enable small and mid-sized farmers to manage records to meet GAP audit and other food safety requirements. FarmTabs is a low cost software which has been developed by experts in the area of food safety, agricultural supply chains, process improvement and software development. FarmTabs will be publicly available for all farmers by Winter 2021. Some of the key features of FarmTabs can be seen as listed below.

  • Enable end-to-end tracking of produce per GAP requirements
  • Allow to perform mock audits
  • Record and track employee hours, and generate summary reports
  • Track GAP audit reports for future operational improvements
  • Manage farm inventory, generate labels and invoices
  • Allow auto integration with QuickBooks
  • Generate end of season sales reports for future crop planning

System Requirements

  • Microsoft 2016 (or higher) recommended
  • Two versions available: Windows and iOS
  • Internet connectivity required only to enable auto email feature
  • Recommended printer: Brother QL700
  • Recommended hardware: Microsoft Surface
  • Recommended subscription: Zed Axis for QuickBooks integration
